Section 07 · Chapters

One strong chapter beats three flaky ones.

The club's expansion is deliberate and slow. The brand is more valuable than the headcount of cities. Each new chapter needs a real human chapter lead, with AI handling everything that doesn't require a relationship.

Founding chapter

Porto.

Expansion order

  • London — target Q4 2026
  • New York — target Q1–Q2 2027
  • Maximum one new chapter per quarter after the first three

Starting one

Any verified member can apply to start a chapter. Required:

  • A named chapter lead and a named co-lead
  • A committed first venue or host location
  • Central team approval

The central team provides the playbook, payment infrastructure, brand assets, and the curated cause list.

Chapter lead responsibilities

The human work.

  • Recruit hosts months ahead, including the relationship work that warm recruiting requires
  • Secure venues
  • Vet new members (with AI first-pass support, human final say)
  • Run the event night: rules speech, toast, soft close
  • Build and use the cross-chapter relationships
  • Make judgment calls on edge cases (eligibility, guest patterns, room dynamics)

What the AI chapter assistant handles

  • Drafts and sends invites
  • Manages RSVPs and payment links
  • Reminders and headcount confirmation
  • First-pass screening of membership applications
  • Recap drafting
  • Donation transfer paperwork and proof posting
  • Directory nudges and updates
  • Content translation
  • Monthly transparency report generation

The AI assistant is built and maintained centrally and delivered as part of the chapter playbook. Time commitment for the human chapter lead with AI support: 4–6 hours per month.

Quality control

Central team can pause a chapter that misses two events in a row, fails to transfer donations, or violates the no-pitch / no-recruit / no-media rules. The brand only travels with chapters in good standing.
